PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum breaker capable of reducing chattering when a movable electrode of a vacuum valve is turned on. SOLUTION: A front end of an insulating rod 5A is connected through the base end of a lever 8 to the rear part of a coupling 4A which is connected through a connection pin 6 to the tip of a lever 3A that is fixed to a main shaft 2A of an operation mechanism part 1A of the vacuum breaker. A hydraulic buffer 9A equipped with a dash pot is fixed to the rear part of the tip of the lever 8 with a piston rod 9a facing frontward. The rear end of the insulating rod 5A is connected to a connection pin 28A of Scott Russell mechanism built in a guide plate 7B.
