PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reclining adjuster for a seat, in which the number of mobile members are reduced as far as possible and which has lock strength sufficient to withstand a large load. SOLUTION: The reclining adjuster for the seat is provided with a lock plate 4 between a plurality of guide members 2 so as to perform normal locking by engaging the locking teeth 41a of the lock plate 4 with opposing inner teeth 34. The adjuster also is provided with an auxiliary lock plate 27 to be slid in a direction nearly orthogonally crossing the sliding direction of the lock plate 4. When the large load is added due to the collision of a vehicle, etc., the locking teeth 27b of the auxiliary lock plate 27 are engaged with the opposing inner teeth 34. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
