<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant cultivation method for smoothing growth of stems of plants and preventing plants from getting hurt when cultivating and shipping using a cultivation container whose at least part of side wall parts is transparent. <P>SOLUTION: The subject plant cultivation device 1 is obtained by attaching an opaque shade 3 to the transparent cultivation container 2. The cultivation container 2 has an opening on the top and in the inside of a cultivation chamber to cultivate sprout vegetables as one consumption unit through forming a bottom 21 and side wall parts 22, 23, 24 and 25 by a transparent material. The shade 3 is formed with an opaque or semi-transparent material and covers the surrounding of the cultivation container 2. A foamed polyurethane rubber mat and a plant cultivation medium 40 (abbreviated to a medium 40 hereafter) made of nonwoven fabric are each arranged in the cultivation chamber 10 of the cultivation container 2. White radish sprouts 4 are cultivated by sowing the seeds 41 of the white radish sprouts 4 as the sprout vegetable on the medium 40.
