ELECTROOPTICAL MODULATING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME, AND PROJECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrooptical modulating device of which the life is scarcely lowered by light absorption, the flexibility of an optical design is not lowered and the cost of components is not increased.

SOLUTION: The electrooptical modulating device comprises a counter substrate 544 of a TFT liquid crystal panel, which is integrated with a reflective inorganic polarizing plate with a structure in which elongated elements 820 are aligned almost in parallel with one another keeping a spacing between the neighboring pairs shorter than a light wavelength on a transparent substrate 810 and a TFT substrate 542 of the TFT liquid crystal panel which is integrated with a sheet of dustproof glass 554.
