PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading processing apparatus, an image reading processing method, and a recording medium capable of effectively erasing a show-through image and enhancing a double-side simultaneous reading function of an original in the case of reading an image on the front side and the rear side of the original at the same time through one scanning of the original and applying processing to the read image. SOLUTION: The image reading processing apparatus is provided with a control means 5 for controlling input / output of image processing means 3, 4 respectively for the front side and the rear side. The control means 5 applies detection processing to the show-through image of the rear side of the original included in a front side image of the original 10, applies detection processing to the show-through image of the front side of the original included in a rear side image of the original 10 respectively, applies color conversion to the show-through image by the rear side of the original to have image quality of the front side image of the original 10, applies color conversion to the sight through image by the front side of the original to have image quality of the rear side image of the original 10, controls the front side purpose image processing means 3, 4 so as to correct the front side image of the original 10 on the basis of the show-through image by the rear side original after the color conversion, and controls the rear side purpose image processing means 3, 4 so as to correct the rear side image of the original 10 on the basis of the show-through image by the front side original after the color conversion.
