FIXING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent image deterioration by preventing nonuniform gloss of an image caused by the peak of heat distribution and further preventing high-temperature offset. SOLUTION: The fixing device fixes unfixed toner 131 by bringing a pressing roller 120 into firm contact with a heating roller 110 which incorporates a heater 100 for heating a middle area and another heater 100 for heating both ends located outside the middle area. In the fixing device, the peaks of the heat distributions of both ends of the heater 100 for heating the middle area and the peaks of the heat distributions of both ends of the heater 100 for heating both the ends overlap at both ends of the heating roller 110. Coil filaments and wire filaments are alternately disposed in the heating region of the heater whereas hold filaments and wire filaments are alternately disposed in the non-heating region of the heater.
