PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformize the flow of cooling water in a plenum under a nuclear reactor and change discharged flow from a leg opening part to flow along the bottom of a nuclear reactor pressure vessel in the nuclear reactor. SOLUTION: This nuclear reactor comprises a shroud support 13 in the nuclear reactor pressure vessel 1, a plurality of primary cooling water circulation pumps 2 distributedly disposed in the circumferential direction on the outer periphery of the shroud support 13, a plurality of shroud support legs 14, the large number of which more than that of the primary cooling water circulation pumps 2 is disposed so as to support the shroud support 13 on the nuclear reactor pressure vessel 1 at a position out of a line connecting the centers of the primary cooling water circulation pumps to the center of the shroud support 13 and only one of which is disposed at the position of the center of a disposition angle at least between the primary cooling water circulation pumps 2 adjacent to each other, and a plurality of leg openings formed between the shroud support legs 14.
