PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation state displaying method and system for a vehicle operation system, excellent in instantaneous legibility with a display system compactified. SOLUTION: Marks 21-27 of symbol marks, simplified characters and codes or the like different for each function according to each function are displayed as selecting/switching operation state display of various functions in the display system B, and the mark for each function is switched and displayed to a mark different according to a switching operation state at that time, respectively. Various functions are selected by operation of right/left direction keys 6, 7 in the operation system A and the selected function is displayed by movement of a cursor 28 in a position of the marks 21-27 for the selected function in the display system B. Further, switching operation for operation, non-operation and/or an operating function in each selected function is performed by operation of an enter key 3 and up/down direction keys 4, 5.
