PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that in a conventional polygonal seal, the volatilization of an ink occurs with the lapse of time because the ink volatilizes through an extremely narrow slit. SOLUTION: This seal is constituted of a seal body having a collar part stretched out from the lower peripheral surface of a holder and a printing element housing cylinder part which extends as an integral part at the lower part of the holder and houses a porous printing element, and a cap formed of an inner cap packing a sealing member in a sealing member housing groove part formed on the upper peripheral surface and an outer cap with a protrusion formed on the inner surface of the upper periphery. The inner cap is ascendably retained by the outer cap through an elastic body and when the protrusion of the outer cap engages with the collar part of the holer and consequently, the seal body and the cap fit to each other, the inner cap springs back ascending by the elastic body and the sealing member reaches the lower end of the collar part.
