An assembly absorbs carbon dioxide and yields oxygen to enhance the quality of respiratory air within a closed space e.g. sport or concert hall. The assembly exploits the properties of selected industrial or agricultural breakdown products and has a basin (1) that promotes the growth of micro-algae cultures in rainwater dosed with potassium salts. The assembly further has a control system (2) and an electrolysis unit (3) that produces caustic soda with the assistance of potassium salts and chlor-alkali, producing discharging carbon dioxide. A further unit (4) stores sodium hydrogen carbonate (NaHCO3) produced by surrender of CO2 to sodium hydroxide. A further unit (5) separates the flocculated sodium hydrogen carbonate from residual fluid that is subsequently dosed into the micro-algae culture. Slurry nutrient is discharged from a holding tank (6) to the micro-algae. A heater (7) maintains the micro-algae at a target temperature of + 27-30 [deg]C. The heater uses heat surrendered from a biomass power station or another suitable industrial installation, or effluent heat from the potassium store (7A). The assembly also has a generator (8) and a suction pump (9) for removal of oxygen.
|
