As a steering wheel is turned back, triggering devices (12) activate return devices (16) and a direction indicator selected for a direction is returned/reset. The triggering devices transmit or reflect electrical, magnetic and/or optical signals (22,24) to be picked up by the return/reset devices, which have a receiver unit (17) and an evaluatory unit (18). Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) A method for returning a motor vehicle's direction indicator when set for direction; (b) and for an evaluatory unit for returning a motor vehicle's direction indicator when set for direction.
