A method for fitting cladding panels, e.g. glass panels, onto buildings has rectangular section hollow metal supports (10) fitted to the building and provided with fixing strips (12) to hold the glazing beads (16) and with central ridges (25) for the threaded fasteners to secure the panels. The strips are folded material and are secured onto studs (20) welded to the outer face of the hollow supports. The studs are fitted with widened heads to grip into holes and slots in the strips. The studs are clad with an electrically insulating coating and the studs and hollow supports are either of stainless steel or are coated with a corrosion protection.
