<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording paper which uses a low gas permeable or non-gas permeable support and shows as high a surface glossiness and dot reproducibility as a silver salt photograph, outstanding ink absorption, profound recording density, a little chance to induce a cockling phenomenon due to an ink solvent and a successful shelf stability. <P>SOLUTION: In this ink jet recording paper, a low gas permeable or non-gas permeable support, at least a single ink receiving layer formed by coating on the support and a glossy layer formed by coating on the ink receiving layer are provided. The ink receiving layer adjacent to the glossy layer indicates the maximum value of only 100 nm or less of a pore diameter distribution curve is only 100 nm or less. The glossy layer is composed mainly of a pigment having an average primary particle diameter of 5 to 100 nm and contains a specific sulfur-containing compound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
