<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical radio transmission apparatus which downsizes the entire structure, attaining excellent waterproof performance, and improves the mechanical strength. <P>SOLUTION: The optical radio transmission apparatus comprises: a transmission main body 10; and a fitting member 15 for turnably supporting the transmission main body 10. A cylindrical case 11 of the transmission main body 10 respectively contains therein a light emitting unit 12 for signal transmission, a light receiving unit 13 for signal reception, and a lamp 14 for displaying a light receiving state of an optical received signal received by the light receiving unit 13. The case 11 is cylindrically formed of a lightweight metal such as aluminum or a fiber reinforced plastic, and a waterproof structure is adopted for both ends of the case 11, which employ a well-known rubber packing or the like to tightly seal the inside and outside of the apparatus.
