<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver, a transmitter and a method for receiving capable of performing efficient finger selection. <P>SOLUTION: In the receiver 100, a delay profile of a communication channel and a delay profile of a common control channel are appropriately used depending on their correlation. If the delay profile of the communication channel can be a part of the delay profile of the common control channel, either the delay profiles of both the communication and the common control channels or the delay profile of the common control channel are/is used for the finger selection.
