<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce buffer capacity for a compression/extension processing section. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes a memory frame 1000 storing image data, the compression/extension processing section 4000, a buffer memory 3000, and a memory control unit 2000. The memory control unit 2000 includes a circuit for writing luminance data Y0, Y1 received at a time from the frame memory 1000 in a first bank 3100 and color difference data Cr, Cb in a third bank 3300, respectively, and for writing the next luminance data Y2, Y3 in a second bank 3200 and the next color difference data Cr, Cb in a fourth bank 3400, respectively, and further includes a circuit for sending out, from the buffer memory 3000 to the compression/extension processing section 4000, the first bank 3100 (Y0, Y1), the second bank 3200 (Y2, Y3), and the third bank 3300 (Cr, Cb) by making the banks as one group, and the first bank 3100 (Y0, Y1), the second bank 3200 (Y2, Y3), and the fourth bank 3400 (Cr, Cb) by making the banks as one group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
