<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointing device easily operable in a posture of lying on a bed or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A strain gauge type accelerometer (inclination sensor) 210 is mounted on, for example, the wrist of a user 110 to shown the moving direction of a cursor by the inclination of the palm. A device 220 with a rotary encoder is mounted on a fingertip of the user 110, and the knob of the rotary encoder 220 is rotated, whereby the movement of the cursor is determined. According to this, the moving direction and moving quantity of the mouse cursor can be separately operated, respectively, with the user's simple motions. Since this device is easily mountable with a compact size and operable with small motions, the user's burden can be minimized even in a lying posture. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
