PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb a shock by deflecting a column when a vehicle collides with a bumping post; and to easily change rigidity of the column in that case, a bending point position and its characteristic. SOLUTION: This bumping post constitutes the column filled with a foaming body 2 for supporting rigidity and a foaming body 3 for a bending point in an elastic hollow column skin 1, and imparts desired rigidity to the column by the foaming body 2 for supporting the rigidity, and imparts a desired bending characteristic in a desired position by the foaming body 3 for the bending point. In the bumping post manufacturing method, the foaming body 3 for the bending point is molded in advance in a circular shape, the foaming body 3 for the bending point is set in the middle of the column skin 1, the foaming body 2 for supporting the rigidity is injected and foamed into the column skin 1 in its state, and the foaming body 2 for supporting the rigidity and the foaming body 3 for the bending point are integrally joined, and made bendable in a position of the foaming body 3 for the bending point when receiving external force.
