PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melting apparatus in which a problem wherein a conventional casting apparatus is complicated and made large sized because of the structure and the mechanism of the casting apparatus is solved. SOLUTION: In the melting apparatus in which a raw silicon material is charged into a crucible 1, heated and melted by a heating means 2 and tapped from a tap hole 3 provided at the bottom, a mechanism 11 for blowing Ar gas toward the tap hole 3 is provided to blow the Ar gas to the tap hole 3 and when the molten liquid of the raw silicon material is tapped, the blow of the Ar gas is stopped.
