New (omega-1)-hydroxy fatty acid esters useful for preparing cosmetic, pharmaceutical or dermatological compositions, especially anti-acne compositions

(omega -1)-Hydroxy fatty acid esters (I) are new. (omega -1)-Hydroxy fatty acid esters of formula CH 3-CH(OH)-(CH 2) n-C(O)OR (I) are new. n : 7-23; and R : an aromatic alcohol residue. An independent claim is also included for an anti-acne composition containing (I). ACTIVITY : Antiseborrheic; Dermatological; Antibacterial; Antiinflammatory. Retinyl (omega -1)-hydroxymyristate (Ia) had MIC values of 0.625 mg/ml against Staphylococcus epidermidis and Propionibacterium acnes and 1.25 mg/ml against Staphylococcus aureus.
