The invention relates to a carry-skip adder, in which a first encoded carry signal (c(<4>)4) of the first adder block (10) and the propagate signal (P'4,7) of the second adder block (12) are transmitted to an R-box (14), which carries out an AND operation of the encoded signals, in order to generate an encoded skip value (R'), the latter being fed to a C-box (16) in encoded form, together with a second carry signal (cs'8) of the second adder block (12), in order to generate an encoded carry input signal for a third adder block (18). The encoded AND operation in the R-box (14) and the encoded inclusive OR operation in the C-box (16), in addition to the adding operations of the adders (10, 12 and 18) are executed in a secret-text context. The invention thus provides a carry-skip adder, which is secure against physical attacks, such as e.g. needle attacks, or indirect attacks such as e.g. SPA or DPA. |
