<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an image forming apparatus inexpensive and compact by increasing the number of common parts constituting a developing unit between the types of the developing units. <P>SOLUTION: A main body part 12 includes a 1st connector 41, and a power source part 611 and a voltage divider circuit capable of selecting eight patterns 1 to 8 for dividing power source voltage generated by the power source part 611 to respectively different voltage values. The main body part 12 is equipped with a discrimination table 721 making the voltage value of output from the voltage divider circuit correspond to the types of the developing units and storing it, a discrimination table 722 making the types of the 1st connectors 41 to 44 correspond to the types of the developing units and storing it, and a discrimination part 71 discriminating the types of the developing units connected to the respective 1st connectors 41 to 44 by referring to the tables 721 and 722 based on the voltage value of the output from the voltage divider circuit, and discriminating whether or not the correct developing units are connected to the respective 1st connectors 41 to 44. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
