<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device wherein a backlight module is miniaturized. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight module 101 is a case housing a backlight and houses a cold cathode tube 102 and a light guide plate 103. The cold cathode tube 102 is a cold cathode tube of red, green, and blue, and it is bent along a side face without incident port of the light guide plate 103 so that an end part separates from the incident port of the light guide plate 103. The light guide plate 103 is provided with the incident port on its one side face to takes in the light emitted from the cold cathode tube 102 through the incident port.
