<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for generating image data whereby part of planar image data can be stereoscopically visualized and for providing stereoscopic images to a viewer. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU 20 reads a planar image file from an HD 23 and displays the planar image on an image display liquid crystal 26b of a display section 26. When an operator particularizes an area of the planar image from which the user desires to obtain a stereoscopic image by applying drag and drop operations to the planar image, the CPU 20 applies stereoscopic image processing to each of pixels used to draw the image of this area, and overwrites a composite parallax image subjected to the stereoscopic image processing to the planar image. Then the CPU 20 again displays the planar image on which the composite parallax image is overwritten onto the image display liquid crystal 26b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
