PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal capable of calling the telephone numbers preliminarily registered in a telephone book with less operations. SOLUTION: When a user newly registers a name and a telephone number in the telephone book of a cellular phone 10, a data conversion part 9 converts Kana for reading of the inputted name into a numerical string and stores it in a telephone book data base 2. When the user retrieves lines of Japanese alphabets in which the characters of the name desired to call are included by depressing allocated numerals one by one by using an operation part 4, a CPU 1 retrieves the numerical string from the telephone book data base 2, acquires the name and the telephone number from personal data including the digit sequence, and displays them on a display part 5.
