PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a duct which is used for a projector and can cool an optical modulation system with a high efficiency while cooling fans are made small-sized and reduced in installation number. SOLUTION: The duct 53 is used for the projector 1 equipped with a plurality of optical modulation systems 44R, 44G and 44B, a dichroic prism 445, and a projection lens 46. The optical modulation systems 44R, 44G and 44B are constituted including liquid crystal panels 441R, 441G and 441B, an incidence-side polarizing plate 442, a field angle correcting plate 443, and a projection-side polarizing plate 444. The duct 53 has a plurality of airflow channels 51 and 52 that cooling air passes through, and a discharge port 61R, incidence-side discharge ports 61G and 61B, and projection-side discharge ports 62G and 62B formed in the airflow channels 51 and 52, the optical modulation systems 44G and 44B are regarded as objects to independently be cooled, and the incidence-side discharge ports 61G and 61B and projection-side discharge ports 62G and 62B as to the objects to independently be cooled are formed in the different airflow channels.
