PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating device which can raise the temperature of a object to be heated in a short period of time and has superior energy saving properties and quietness. SOLUTION: The heating device is provided with a fixing roll 231 and a press roll 232 which come into press contact with each other. An unfixed toner image on recording paper P is heated (fixed) while the recording paper P passes through a press contact range Y where the fixing roll 231 and the press roll 232 are brought into press contact. A heating layer 232d which generates heat by induction heating is provided to the press roll 232 and an induction heat coil unit 241 carrying out induction heating of the heating layer 232d is disposed so as to surround one part of the outer circumferential part of the press roll 232.
