PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luggage storing structure for an automobile, capable of certainly protecting luggage stored in the storage recessed portion. SOLUTION: The luggage storing structure for the automobile comprises a storage recessed portion 5 formed on a floor panel 4 so as to project downward and capable of storing the luggage, a plate member 3 generally blocking an upper part of the storage recessed portion 5, and a moving mechanism 6 generally vertically moving the plate member 3. The storage recessed portion 5 is generally blocked by the plate member 3. The plate member 3 moves upward, thereby enabling storing the luggage in the storage recessed portion 5.
