PURPOSE: An upper loading assist device is provided to allow the nuclear fuel assembly to be mounted to the fuel assembly position in a safe and accurate manner, while significantly reducing the possibility of damage of the nuclear fuel assembly during loading. CONSTITUTION: An upper loading assist device(1) comprises a loading guide(10) for protecting a control rod hub and a T-bar of a nuclear fuel assembly, and serving as a guide for aligning the nuclear fuel assembly on an upper nozzle of the nuclear fuel assembly; a lifting rope hole(20) mounted on the loading guide, and which has a lifting rope for handling the loading guide in a vertical direction; and a slide plate(30) fixed at the lower end of the loading guide, and which guides the lower portion of the nuclear fuel assembly to the preset position for insertion.
