The linear bearing has a number of balls (3) located on a straight section (4) in the contact region between a linear guide (2) and a slide. Ball deflection sections (5) are connected to both ends of the straight section and comprise an end section (7) and a ball deflector (8). The end section has a trough-shaped recess (9) for guiding of the balls, and the deflector has a semi-spherical or semi-elliptical section (10). In the assembled state of the linear bearing the recess and semi-spherical or semi-elliptical section form a reversing track for the balls.
