The opto-electronics device scans lines of bar-codes. The codes have several fields corresponding to alphanumeric symbols. A mark is provided on the coding line through marking of at least one of the fields. The opto-electronic device is formed by a bar-code reader which samples the marked fields formed by bar-codes to detect the mark.
