PURPOSE: Provided are a molding composition, a use of a fluorescent whitening agent in the composition for substantially inhibiting the transmission of a UV ray through an optical product and an optical product using the composition which is substantially opaque to a UV ray. CONSTITUTION: The molding composition comprises an effective amount of at least one fluorescent whitening agent which has a yellowness b of 7 or less and provides the transmission less than 1 % measured in a thickness of 4 mm at a wavelength of 370-430 nm; and 60 wt% or more of a transparent polyamide. Preferably the optical product comprises a multilayer structure whose at least one layer comprises the composition, or is prepared from a transparent polyamide coated with a coat comprising at least one fluorescent whitening agent. Preferably the coat is a lacquer.
