A water retention system is assembled from modular components to fit the storage space available. Each module is made from two half shells linked onto connecting elements which provide the corners and which also enable the modular grid to be expanded. The connectors clip together and have profiled tags to clip into the edges of the modules. The modules are filled with a granular material and wrapped in a geo-textile.
