The apparatus has an aluminum bracket (3) attached with a long horizontal rod (1) and a short vertical rod (2) at a perfect angle of 90 degrees. A circular bubble part (4) controls flatness of the horizontal rod. A ruler (6) measures height of the horizontal rod. A leveling unit is attached to another ruler (7). A squadron is attached to the horizontal rod to facilitate and guide a position of the ruler when the ruler is combined with a coupling unit, where height of the horizontal rod is specified between 1.5 and 2.5 m and height of the vertical rod is specified between 0.75 and 1 m. An independent claim is also included for a method for obtaining topographic profiles.
