CUCURBITURIL-FULLERENE COMPLEX USEFUL AS DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A cucurbituril-fullerene complex and a preparation method thereof are provided. The complex is easily manufactured and handled, so that it can be useful as a drug delivery system in the pharmaceutical industry. CONSTITUTION: The method for preparing the cucurbituril-fullerene complex comprises the steps of: pulverizing the mixture of solid cucurbituril and fullerene with a pulverizer at 20 rpm/min for 1 to 10 hours; washing the pulverized mixture with water; adding 2M NaOH into the mixture to regulate pH value of the mixture to 12; adding toluene into the mixture to dissolve unbound fullerene; stirring the mixture for 30 minutes to precipitate a complex; removing the supernatant and freezing the complex containing aqueous solution; dissolving the frozen solution at room temperature, and centrifuging it at 0 deg. C and 5000 rpm for 10 minutes; removing water and washing the complex with distilled water; and drying the complex, wherein the cucurbituril and fullerene are bound together; and the weight ratio of cucurbituril and fullerene is 1:2 to 2:1.
