PURPOSE: A washing machine is provided to improve appearance and prevent solidification of detergent powder by restricting the detergent supply unit from being exposed out, and to supply detergent powder actively by automatically transferring the detergent powder with an automatic detergent transfer unit. CONSTITUTION: A washing machine includes a housing forming the exterior, and a detergent supply apparatus(20) installed in the housing. The detergent supply apparatus is composed of a detergent box(21) storing detergent, an upper cover(22) combined with the upper part of the detergent box to put detergent powder to the detergent box, a grip(30) hinge-combined with the upper part of the detergent box to assemble and disassemble the detergent box from the housing, and a detergent transfer part(23) arranged in the lower part of the detergent box. An automatic detergent transfer unit is installed in the detergent transfer part to automatically transfer detergent powder from the detergent box to a water tub(2). A fitting protrusion(41) of a receiving part(40) of the housing is fitted to a fitting groove of the grip of the detergent supply apparatus.
