POROUS SOUND-ABSORBING CERAMICS USING SLAG AS A MAIN MATERIAL, CLAY AND WATER GLASS AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF

摘要

PURPOSE: Provided are porous ceramics with good sound absorbing characteristics over a wide frequency range by using slag as a main material, clay and water glass. CONSTITUTION: The porous sound-absorbing ceramics are produced by the following steps of: mixing 90-95wt.% of slag having a size less than 3mm, 5-10wt.% of clay for increase of bonding forces between slag particles and strength of ceramics, 5-10wt.% of water glass for improvement of formability and pore characteristics, and optionally less than 10wt.%(obtained by extrapolation) of paste powder; forming mixtures; sintering formed products at 1000-1050deg.C for 1-3hrs.
