PURPOSE: A deflection yoke for a CRT is provided to prevent leakage magnetic field and correct distortion at the top and bottom of center axis in a deflection yoke. CONSTITUTION: A CRT comprises a panel having a phosphor surface, a funnel, an electron gun, and a deflection yoke. The deflection yoke includes a horizontal/vertical deflection coil(231,233) for deflecting horizontally and vertically electron beams emitted from the electron gun; a ferrite core(234) for reducing the loss of magnetic force generated from the deflection coils; and a holder(232) for fixing the deflection coils and the ferrite core and insulating the horizontal deflection coil from the vertical deflection coil. At least one phosphor side aperture section of the horizontal/vertical deflection coils is square shape. The thickness(t1,t2) of a vertical and a horizontal axes aperture in the ferrite core are different.
