The utility model relates to a powder separator of the dust-and-gas mixture in powder fuel installations in the power industry. Its advantage consists in the fact that during operation the degree of separation of the powder-and-gas mixture can be changed. The powder separator comprises a main pipeline (1) gradually growing into an expansion chamber (2) in which a central powder duct (3) is mounted having smaller diameter than the powder duct (1), so that an inlet diaphragm (4) is formed between them. Before the diaphragm (4) and close to the inlet edge of the powder duct (3) throttle elements (5) with seals (6) and driving mechanisms (7) are installed.
