A positioning ring (37) and a level board (40) perform press clamping of a seal ring (19) with respect to the tone wheel (21). A rotatable chuck (36) fixedly holds the seal ring in a state in which the tone wheel is forcedly made to follow the reference plane (40a) of the level board. A magnetic sensor (28) is arranged opposing the tone wheel and connected to a controller (11) for measuring the rotational speed of wheel. An independent claim is also included for tone wheel inspection method.
