The invention relates to a device for the electrical protection of metal structures, meant for the polarized and voltage-limiting protection of said structures both against accidental electrostatic loading and against accidental electrostatic loading and against D.C. and /or A.C. dispersion currents, enhancing the efficiency of the anti-corrosive cathodic protection of metal structures. The device is achieved as a hybrid structure made up of some high power Zener (1.1, 2.1) and Schottky (1.2, 2.2) encapsulated junctions, screwed on the internal radiators ((2.3, 2.7) which are welded on a base plate (2,6), said junctions being electrically connected to one another by a ballast resistor (1.3) made up of a metal strip chosen and sized so as to have an electric resistence ranging from 10 to 100 m omega, the electric circuit being protected at the outer side by a metal body (2.8) welded on the base plate (2.6) and filled up, by pouring, with an organic resin (2.9) adequately chosen in order to ensure the climatic protection of the entire assembly and for dissipating the heat released during the operation. By adequately mounting the claimed device on an underground structure, there are simultaneously ensured both the electrical safety of the structure, also against electrostatic discharges and the rendering efficient of the cathodic anti-corrosive protection by draining out the D.C. dispersion currents and rectifying efficiently both the low and high frequency A.C. dispersion currents.
