PURPOSE: A communication system capable of selective receiving in a management area is provided to make communication without a burden of participation delay or group management when a plurality of users commonly receive information of many information sources existing within a limited range. CONSTITUTION: A receiving terminal includes a MAC(Medium Access Control) layer and an application layer. The address of a group to be received is recorded in the MAC layer of the receiving terminal. When data is received, the group address of the received data and the list of the group addresses recorded in the MAC layer of the receiving terminal are compared. And then, only when the group address of the received data is in the list of the group addresses of the receiving terminal, the data is transferred to the application layer.
