PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for enlarging a screen of a display device is provided to rapidly use a zoom function only with a simple key manipulation without repeating selection or cancel of a zoom area. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for enlarging the screen of the display device includes an input signal processing part(31) for processing at least one of an analog image signal and a digital image signal inputted from the external device into an easily displayed form, a user interface part(32) for allowing a user to input various orders relative to operations of the apparatus, a first memory part(33) for storing image information for display, a second memory part(34) for storing zoom guide window information and programs related with the operations of the apparatus, the second memory part having a key for moving the zoom area in all directions, a scaler(35) for enlarging an image inputted through the input signal processing part according to the movement of the zoom area selected by the user interface part so as to display the enlarged image on a zoom guide window at real time, and a display part(36) for displaying the output of the scaler. |
