OPTICAL PICKUP DEVICE AND 3-BEAM PHASE CONTROLLING METHOD

PURPOSE: An optical pickup device AND A 3-beam phase controlling method are provided to simultaneously perform a focus offset process and a 3-beam phase controlling process for a relatively thick disk and a relatively thin disk, thereby simplifying a setting operation of the optical pickup device. CONSTITUTION: A light source unit(6) irradiates the first light(I) and the second light(II). An optical path converter(7) converts paths of the first light(I) and the second light(II). An objective lens(13) focuses the light reflected by the optical path converter(7) on a relatively thin disk(10) or a relatively thick disk(11). An optical detector unit(15) detects the light reflected from the relatively thin disk(10) or the relatively thick disk(11), and converts the detected light into an electrical signal. A collimating lens(12) is further comprised between the objective lens(13) and the optical path converter(7).
