摘要 <p>PURPOSE: A method for preparing an electrolyte membrane-electrode substrate assembly is provided, to obtain a sufficient adhesive strength between an electrolyte membrane and an electrode substrate even if the electrolyte membrane contains a heat-resistant material such as an aromatic polymer. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of applying a good solvent for an electrolyte membrane on at least one surface of the facing faces of an electrode substrate and an electrolyte membrane which face each other; and compressing the electrode substrate and the electrolyte membrane to join them for forming an electrolyte membrane-electrode substrate assembly. Preferably the electrolyte membrane is a film formed by flow casting a proton conductive polymer solution dissolved in an organic solvent on a substrate, and contains 5 parts by weight or less of a remaining solvent based on 100 parts by weight of the proton conductive polymer. Preferably the electrolyte membrane contains a sulfonated aromatic polymer and the solvent is an aprotic dipolar solvent.</p>
