The invention relates to a process for reducing the tension stress during the continuous casting of ingots by passing the ingot delivered from the curved casting installation through a rolling mill stand having a planetary upper roll and a solid lower roll. The adjusting control and the optimization of the process are achieved at an optimal reduction degree and by adjusting the planetary roll speed between 100 and 300 rot/min.
