PURPOSE: A system and a method thereof are provided which support a co-located COA(Care Of Address) method in a communication system using an internet protocol version 4 address. CONSTITUTION: According to the method for supporting a co-located COA method in a communication system using an internet protocol version 4 address, a visitor node manager(FA,19) senses communication request of a mobile communication terminal(111) and then it is informed to the mobile communication terminal that data communication through the co-located COA method is possible. Then, the mobile communication terminal requests registration to the visitor node manager to perform a communication using the co-located COA method.
