FIELD: manufacture of manual non-rotary tool for sharpening cutting edges or for taking off surface layer of material, possibly sharpening, for example home knives. ^ SUBSTANCE: abrasive tool includes carcass with jacket stretched on its surface. Carcass has lengthwise butt whose ends are elastically closed with formation of hollow section. Jacket is made of sheet of grinding cloth whose lengthwise edges are superimposed and secured one to other with working surface of grinding cloth turned outside in such a way that to form symmetrical lengthwise butt parallel relative to edge. Method for making carcass comprises steps of using as supporting member rigid insert preliminarily placed inside polymeric thin-wall tube; cutting predetermined-length blank of carcass from said tube; punching eyes in blank and slitting lengthwise butt along its generatrix. Method for making jacket of abrasive tool comprises steps of marking-out lines on working layer of belt of grinding cloth for further bending its lengthwise edges; bending belt for further folding it along marked-out lines; cutting predetermined-length sheet from grinding cloth; mutually joining working edges of sheet with working surface turned outside and mutually fastening them in such a way that to form closed contour and W-shaped zigzag. ^ EFFECT: enhanced efficiency, improved working quality. ^ 7 cl, 8 dwg |
