REAL-TIME THREE-DIMENSIONAL MOTION CAPTURE SYSTEM USING PSD

PURPOSE: A real-time three-dimensional motion capture system using PSD(Position Sensitive Detector) is provided to minimize the manufacturing cost of the motion capture system by using an inexpensive optical sensor. CONSTITUTION: A real-time three-dimensional motion capture system includes a plurality of light-emitting marker modules(40), a PSD motion capture module(10), and a computer(50). The light-emitting marker modules are attached to the body of a user and emit infrared rays. The PSD motion capture module includes a remote control signal output unit(31) for radiating infrared rays to the light-emitting marker modules to apply an operation signal, an optical system(20) for sensing the infrared rays emitted from the light-emitting marker modules and converts the sensed infrared rays into an electric signal, a signal control unit(30) for converting the electric signal into a digital signal, and an interface(30) for transmitting the digital signal. The computer has a motion capture program installed therein.
