PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for determining a frame number of RNCs(Radio Network Controllers) in an asynchronous mobile communication system are provided to allow only one RNC to receive clock information and restore it to a clock signal. CONSTITUTION: A CN(Core Network) receives data including clock information from a clock source(500). The CN transmits the received data to a master RNC(502). The master RNC restores only clock information from the received data(504). The master RNC generates an RFN(RNC Frame Number) by using the generated clock signal(506). The master RNC carries the RFN on the clock signal and transmits it to slave RNCs(508).
